About

New York City has a long and rich musical heritage. In every neighborhood of every borough there are physical reminders of musicians and composers who left their mark on the city: monuments, concert halls, residences, commemorative signs and plaques.

Using the Google map on this site you can tour these places either from the comfort of home with your computer, or out on the streets with your smartphone. Soon, suggested routes will be posted. You may also use this map to design a self-guided tour.

Are you curious about any musician or composer in particular? Drop me a line using the form below, and I will add your question to my list of things to research. And if you have a suggestion for the map, I would welcome your input!
